I have been part of the Be family since 2016 and now work as a manager.
Before joining Be, I worked as a student trainee for various companies and most recently at Deutsche Börse. During this time, my interest in consulting grew steadily, driven in particular by several projects that had to be completed as module work during my computer science studies. I got to know a former Be employee who took my CV, passed it on and thus made an initial interview possible. You can see the result of the interview in the first line.
The life of a consultant is varied and diverse and is driven by various activities. These include
– the project business with the corresponding tasks.
– the constant expansion of expertise.
– Networking.
– Recognising, analysing and working out current and near/medium-term future topics that move the market.
– Identifying the customer’s need for support.
– Recognising the strengths of employees in order to maximise the efficiency of the project team.
– Potential new employees who can contribute to the company’s success.
In addition to the points mentioned above, I would of course like to emphasise the great cooperation as well as the interaction with colleagues and superiors outside of the project business – for me personally, family-like interaction is a decisive factor for well-being within a company.
My private life is dominated by various social activities. I spend a lot of time with my friends and family, as well as my dog. I find the balance to my job mainly in long walks, weekend trips and cycling. When I’m not outdoors, I like to fill my free time by playing Fifa on the Playstation or watching documentary films on various topics.
Consultancy offers an exciting and varied working environment. Especially as a career starter, a steep learning curve is guaranteed, allowing you to gain a lot of relevant experience for the market within a very short time. Be actively supports employees in this by supporting training courses and certifications that are relevant to their careers.
I personally also enjoy the networking. As a person, I would categorise myself as an extrovert. Maintaining and expanding my network is not only relevant as a consultant, but for me it’s the icing on the cake at work.
To summarise, consulting provides insights into a wide range of business areas at the customer, exciting projects and constantly growing know-how. But apart from the core business, maintaining and expanding contacts, as well as recognising potentially relevant topics that could move the market in the future, is always important.
All this, and much more, were the reasons for me to start my career within a consultancy firm.
